Discover Charleston's secrets with Monti Carlo and Hunter Hulbert on Amazing America TV
Charleston, SC — If you’re a fellow foodie and travel junkie, have I got some news for you! I'm Monti Carlo (@themonticarlo), your friendly neighborhood chef, cookbook author, and food fanatic (you might recognize me from Food Network, Roku, Netflix, or that time I accidentally set fire to Gordon Ramsay’s MasterChef kitchen on FOX...oops). I'm so excited to finally announce my brand new show, "Let's Eat," premiering on Amazing America TV's YouTube channel.
This isn't just another food show listing the same tired spots in major cities that everyone talks about. “Let’s Eat” is a race against the clock in mid-sized cities with small-town vibes, where I have just 12 hours to eat at 12 restaurants that are recommended by local characters and my audience of hospitality insiders. I'm talking hidden gems, neighborhood favorites, and the kind of menu items that only the truly obsessed food lovers know about. And guess where we're kicking things off? Charleston, y'all!
Picture this: cobblestone streets, Spanish moss, and the most incredible food scene you can imagine. My trusty sidekick/camera guy, Brandon Kong, and I hit the ground running, fueled by caffeine and a burning desire to taste everything, from the melt-in-your-mouth honey pie at Welton's Tiny Bakeshop to the crispy, perfectly seasoned fried fish sandwich at CudaCo Seafood House. What I'm most proud of is that "Let's Eat" is more than just a list of unforgettable restaurant dishes; it’s a love letter to the people and the passion that make a city's food scene so unique. I hope "Let's Eat" makes you feel like you're right there with me, sharing a laugh and a plate of something incredible. Because that's what food is all about – bringing people together.
And because a great trip is about more than just the food (though let's be honest, that's a big part of it!), Amazing America TV also has "Amazing Itineraries" with the adventurous Hunter Hulbert (@hunterhulbert). Hunter's one of those guys who can find the hidden magic in any city, the quirky little corners that most people miss. His first episode is also set in Charleston, and he's uncovering secrets that even locals might not know about. "For a city as well-known as Charleston," Hunter says, "it is so cool that you can still find little surprises. I don’t want to give away too much, so the only thing I’ll say is this: Seeing a huge owl fly a few inches from my face was the experience I never knew I needed.”
So here's my recommendation: Grab a snack, settle in, and tune into Amazing America TV's YouTube channel. "Let's Eat" and "Amazing Itineraries" are two shows that celebrate the best of American food, travel, and storytelling. They're fun, they're informative, and they're sure to inspire you to explore your own backyard and discover the hidden treasures in your community. We’re hitting up San Antonio next, and you don't want to miss that. Subscribe to Amazing America TV on YouTube, and follow us on Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok @amazingamericatv for all the behind-the-scenes shenanigans. Get ready for a double dose of the real America, the places where hard work, community, and a love of country still thrive. “Let’s Eat” and “Amazing Itineraries” are refreshing reminders of all the good things we have right here at home.
