16 & Pregnant's Whitney arrested, involuntary manslaughter, 1 month after son died
’16 & Pregnant’ star Whitney Purvis is in police custody after being arrested for felony involuntary manslaughter involving a fatal overdose, according to TMZ.
The MTV star was taken by deputies in Floyd County, GA for an involuntary manslaughter charge for intentionally distributing a drug called Tranq – a combo of Fentanyl and Xylazine.
Law enforcement is saying the Tranq caused the victim, John Mark Harris to suffer a deadly overdose.
In additional to the involuntary manslaughter charges, she was also arrested on two other charges involving controlled substances, including procession with the intent to distribute, according to the outlet.
The former teen mom has been arrested three separate times before. She was caught shoplifting a pregnancy test, smashing up electronics and failing to pay child support.
The news of Whitney’s arrest comes just over month after her teenage son, Weston died of natural causes.
Purvis and her then partner, Weston Sr., welcomed their son April 2, 2009 during the first season of “16 & Pregnant.” They also share another son, River, born in 2014, but have been broken up since then, according to PEOPLE.
