Calling all Dolly Parton wannabes: Search underway for singer's new Broadway musical

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Dolly Parton is searching for a special someone to play the icon herself in her upcoming Broadway musical.

"Dolly: An Original Musical" is inspired by the singer's decades-long career and life.

"This show is a celebration of my music, my life, and all the amazing people who've been with me along the way," Parton says.

She said the musical is searching for those interested in playing key people in her life and Dolly Parton herself. She said if you're lucky, you will get the opportunity to audition for the show's casting director.

"I’m happy to announce the #SearchForDolly," Parton wrote on her Instagram page. "My brand new show ‘Dolly: An Original Musical’ is coming to Broadway and I want to give YOU the chance to help me bring my story to the big stage!"

The global sensation announced her upcoming musical this summer in Nashville, Tennessee at CMA Fest.

Parton asks those who want to be considered to submit their audition to DollyMusical.com and post online using #SearchForDolly.
