'9-1-1' star Jennifer Love Hewitt’s kids are following in her horror icon footsteps
Jennifer Love Hewitt’s kids are all in on spooky season with their horror icon mom.
“It was really fun for my kids. It made me very cool in my house for like, a month. So that was exciting. And now I'm just a dorky mom again,” Jennifer told our Courtney Tezeno at the ABC End of Summer Soiree about the “I Know What You Did Last Summer” requel (reboot/sequel) that came out this summer.
Jennifer shares daughter Autumn, 11, Atticus, 10, and Aidan, 4, with husband Brian Hallisay.
“My son Atticus, he's my middle he is a horror movie guy, so he was over the top [excited]. My little guy couldn't watch the movie because he's four, but he walks around with like, a fake little hook in his hand, and he's constantly trying to scare me in the pantry. So, he had a lot of fun with that.”
And the Queen of the 90s has a 90s princess in training.
“And my daughter just thought it was iconic, because she thinks, like, she's like, Mom, the 90s are so cool. And I'm like, ‘What are you talking about?’ I know it's cool, but she loves it so it was fun.”
Jennifer added that part of the appeal in the refreshed version of “I Know What You Did Last Summer” was her co-star, Madeline Cline.
“She was like, it's great that you're in the movie, but there's Madeline. I was like, oh, okay,” Jennifer laughed adding, kids, “They always keep you grounded.”
The horror franchise also reunited Jennifer with her “I Still Know What You Did Last Summer” co-star Brandy.
Jennifer gushed about the singer, saying, “Literally, we were filming in the middle [of the] night, I was like, I don't understand, you look exactly the same! She was just, she's so beautiful. She's so sweet. It was really fun for us.”
She continued, “We both felt like we were teenagers again, like it was a really, it was a very sweet moment. And we just, like, worked all night, and it was great. And then we had to keep it a big secret, which was also kind of fun.”
Jennifer is “still waiting to find out” if we’ll see her face off with another hook-wielding fisherman, but in the meantime, she and Brandy will for sure be reuniting at her upcoming “The Boy is Mine” concert on October 16.
Jennifer said the “first thing out of my mouth” when they worked together was, “I'm so happy to see you. Um, can I have tickets to the show? She promised me tickets, so we'll see.”
“If she brings someone up on stage, and it is not me, I'm going live on Instagram to talk about it,” she added with a laugh.
Jennifer’s October is filling up fast with the concert, the season premiere of “9-1-1” on October 9, and “I Know What You Did Last Summer” streaming on Netflix on October 16.
