A love confession leads to tears on '90 Day: Hunt for Love'
After multiple episodes and fights and fingers literally pointing, we finally, FINALLY, end the drama about the rumor that Elise and Rob hooked up.
We pick back up in a lull in the fight, with Cole talking to Rocky and Usman about the rumor mill and admitting in his one on one interview that he just said Tiffany was the one who told him to get Elise off his back (you know, like a liar).
Jennifer is questioning her interest in Cole, thinking he’s weak for not standing up and being honest about who (allegedly) told him the rumor. Elise feels like Cole spread the rumor to make Rob look bad and it turned her and Jennifer on each other.
But the healing can begin because Elise and Jennifer agree to make a pact to move forward and forget about what happened (even though Elise does think Jennifer is sneaky). Thank goodness because this has been one of the least interesting developments at the resort. The girls even have a giggle about Rob walking around shirtless, and when he joins them for a chat, they all start making fun of Cole.
Peace continues to reign as Rocky, who had previously been part of Tiffany’s love quadrangle, decides to ask Chantel out, and she accepts.
However, a drama is brewing, as Usman remains jealous of Cortney and Colt’s connection. It’s evident to anyone when Cortney gathers the group to make a get well video for Colt and Usman gives her a kiss on the cheek. Usman asks Cortney directly if she likes him and they reconfirm going on a date, but he’s pretty insecure, asking her if she’d cry if he’d been the one to break his leg. Cortney was hoping the love triangle with these guys would sort itself out by the end of the resort stay, but clearly it’s not and she feels forced to choose.
The next day, Cortney visits Colt at the hospital ahead of his surgery, and they are honestly very flirty and sweet. Seems like Usman is right to be a bit worried.
On the beach, some of the guys are reenacting the “Top Gun” volleyball scene. Tim is one of them, and he’s having a rough time at the resort. He’s had no dates and he’s lost respect for Elise after her unending quest for the origin of the rumors. So he tries to strike up a conversation with Mei, but it’s not sparking just yet.
Rob and Jennifer are there and with Jennifer fully single again, Rob asks her out on a date. They are clearly very into each other, going off to plan their date and be flirty, talking about how happy they are to just go on a date and not feel scrutinized.
Cole and Carlo come walking down the beach and everyone thinks Cole’s going to lose it seeing Jennifer and Rob together, but he takes it pretty well. He admits in his interview he feels bad and embarrassed about the mess with Jennifer, and about her saying things without thinking (you know, like the lies). But Cole is otherwise single and ready to mingle.
Usman and Cortney go on their date, a ziplining adventure that is borderline terrifying for Cortney who hates heights and nature, the two things most prevalent in ziplining. Cortney is truly torn because Usman is the first guy she was into at the resort, but she’s been so caught up in the Colt situation she doesn’t know what to do.
Usman is excited though for a chance to talk to her, but still uncertain because he feels like she’s giving him wife treatment and they’re not even together. (If he saw the hospital video, he might not even bother trying anymore.)
After they go down the first section of the zipline, they have a one on one conversation in the canopy, where Usman grills her about her feelings for Colt. Then he drops that he doesn’t just like her, he loves her, capital L.
The first thing Cortney says back is “I’ve just been going through a lot right now” and starts to tear up. She feels pushed emotionally and Usman apologizes, saying he wasn’t trying to force anything. But she’s not ready to define anything. (Remember, these people have known each other for just over a week at this point.) While Usman assures her they can continue interacting while being respectful of Colt, Cortney just feels like she’s in the middle of a tug of war and doesn’t want anyone getting hurt.
Hate to see what they talk about at the next zipline stop.
