'American Idol' music supervisor killed in double homicide: report
The “American Idol” family is being rocked by the shocking death of the show’s music supervisor.
Robin Kaye, the award-winning music supervisor for the reality competition show, and her husband, Thomas Deluca, were both found dead in their Los Angeles home, according to a report from TMZ.
Law enforcement told the outlet that they were discovered Monday after LAPD officers were called for a welfare check on the couple by an unknown individual.
Kaye and Deluca had not been heard from for four days when they were both found to have been shot in the head, each person in a different room of the house. Officers saw blood at the front entrance of the home and a smashed window to gain entry.
However, the incident does not appear to be a part of a burglary because the home was not ransacked, officials told TMZ.
LAPD officers did respond to a call to the home last Thursday when an unidentified suspect was seen trying to enter the home and may have been armed. Neighbors told TMZ that they saw someone hopping a fence and called police. Officers responded but found no signs of forced entry.
It is unknown if that incident and the homicides are related.
Kaye worked as the music supervisor for “American Idol” for the past 15 seasons, from 2002 to 2023. She also worked on “Lip Sync Battle,” and multiple “Miss USA” and “Miss Universe” pageant specials, earning several Guild of Music Supervisor Awards for her work.
