We had two incredibly awkward “Meet the Parents” scenarios this week, plus more religious fights, and another break up for Gino.

ELIZABETH AND ANDREI

Elizabeth is still angry at Andrei over the lost money, so when he returns from Moldova with flowers in hand, she could not care less. He tries to assure her that he’ll get the money back, which may require more money to do, and repeats that he wants to move the family to Moldova. When she says no, he snaps and she snaps right back and stands her ground that the move isn’t happening and now, she’s going to be involved in every business decision he makes.

Even after the argument, she says she missed him and he apologizes, a rare move for him. Still, this mess is far from settled.

BRANDON AND JULIA

Our first “Meet the Parents” scenario picks up at the very unwanted surprise appearance of Brandon’s parents waiting for the couple and Julia’s parents to arrive. Julia can’t even pretend to be cordial, noting that everyone is exhausted and it’s not really the time to be having even a small party. In fact, she specifically told them she didn’t want anything like this.

Brandon’s parents are of course offended, while Julia’s are a little lost due to the language barrier. After Brandon’s dad calls Julia ungrateful (for a party she had no interest in having), they decide to leave.

Brandon sides with his parents and tries to placate them, but he also decides to leave the house with them. Julia, who says he will always be a mama’s boy, tells him if he leaves, don’t bother coming back, even threatening to change the locks (his parents have a key). He hops in the van with mom and dad and drives off, leaving Julia upset and her parents baffled about what just happened.

KARA AND GUILLERMO

Kara and Guillermo both have chats with their moms about the status of the relationship. For Kara, her mom is willing to be there for both of them, especially since Guillermo is otherwise alone in the U.S. But she does feel he hasn’t been supportive of Kara, who’s leaving for Milan to work on her album, and wonders if they’re too different to make things work. She strongly recommends Kara get a lawyer when she’s back to prepare for a divorce.

Guillermo’s mom is a little more optimistic. She has a video call with her son, who’s opening up about the issues in his relationship for the first time. He begins to cry but she assures him if there’s love there, the relationship can be saved. Guillermo knows he should fight for love, but insists Kara has broken his trust and cheated, something we still haven’t seen any evidence of.

DARCEY AND GEORGI

It’s been episodes in the making, but Darcey and Georgi finally go to see his parents in our second “Meet the Parents” moment of the night.

And after much discussion about what Darcey would wear, she chooses a relatively buttoned-up look (for Darcey) that still features some cleavage and sheer tights. Georgi is over the arguments about her outfit since she’s not really listening to him anyway.

The buttoned-up look backfires though because the minute they arrive, one of the buttons pops off and Darcey has to throw an extra coat over her outfit, and just looks a bit off. But no one notices right away, Georgi’s mom and dad are so excited to see their son after 13 years. There’s hugs and tears and it all seems to be going well.

When they’re pulled aside for their one-on-one interview, Georgi’s parents do say they don’t she think she’s dressed right for the season. They even ask her point blank why she has “bare legs” and she explains the issue with the button, which they offer to fix. Darcey accepts, but admits in her interview she can feel the disapproval.

Georgi has some time with dad, who he asks about menopause issues for Darcey. Darcey spends time with mom and has to communicate through Google translate, but happily learns that Georgi did open up about their past relationship issues and his mom encourages him to communicate better.

Things get really awkward at dinner as mom brings up her and Darcey’s talk about communication and Darey starts crying, making a mini scene at the table. But through the translator app, his mom assures Darcey that if Georgi didn’t love her, he wouldn’t have brought her home. He’s never brought a girl home to meet them, so this is definitely a big deal. Darcey apologizes for crying, and thanks them for the info. But, like Julia’s parents, how confusing for everyone involved.

TIGERLILY AND ADNAN

Tigerlily is alone in her room crying after Adnan called her a demon, overwhelmed by the amount of changes he wants, especially converting to Islam and possibly covering up more and wearing a hijab.

When he enters he blusters that he is the man and makes the decisions, but she does question the inconsistencies in all his arguments and how often he tells her one thing and means another. After more bickering, he ends up cuddling with her and sort of apologizes, but adds he doesn’t want to hear her complaints again and she should just focus on being a good wife.

Mind you, all this happened the day before her scheduled c-section! They’ve more or less made up, even though Adnan privately belives a “demon” is keeping Tigerlily from wanting to become a Muslim.

While Adnan is prepared for a religious battle, he’s definitely less prepared for the birth of their baby. He dons a suit to go to the hospital, talking up how good he looks to Tigerlily. She laughs it off because she’s not worried how he looks when she’s about to have major surgery and give birth to a baby!

Tigerlily is also wary on the ride to the hospital, as Adnan asks her to repeat several phrases in Arabic he says are just prayers for the health and safety of her and the baby, but she wonders if they are some of the phrases she’s supposed to say as part of converting her religion. He says that’s not it, ut she’s a little suspicious as they drive to the hospital.

GINO AND JASMINE (AND NATALIE AND MATT)

Jasmine and Matt are working out at the gym, the origin of their relationship, talking about the fallout from the party. Jasmine says she’s done with Gino and ready to move on with her life, which may mean moving back to Panama. That’s when Matt, while lifting weights, declares his love for Jasmine.

She isreally on the fence with the news. She told him not to fall in love with her, and says if they’d met under different circumstances, she would absolutely be in love with him. But she’s given the last five years of her life to Gino and while she’s done with him, she doesn’t want to rush anything new. Matt understands this position and says he’s willing to wait, he loves Jasmine that much.

Gino tries to make amends with Natalie at her hotel, but she is packing her bags and ready to leave Michigan for good. She calls out that he left a lot of things out before she came there, and feels disrespected by Jasmine screaming at her and calling her names.

Natalie lays out a reminder of what her expectations were from day one about having a clean break from his marriage. Gino waffles and says he thought he gave Jasmine a clean break and the closure she needed, but Natalie calls out if that was the case, why did he meet with her for dinner just a week ago? And why did Matt tell her Jasmine still thought there was hope for her and Gino?

Gino takes the opportunity to go off on Matt, and Natalie points out the irrelevancy of that and says she’s done. She says he’s not ready to be in a new relationship and she’s wishes him the best, but they’re over.

While waiting for her ride to the airport, Natalie says she felt used in the toxic drama this group has going on and is happy to get out of there.

Gino tries to call after Natalie, but ends up sitting in the hotel lobby and complaining in his interview that his relationship with Natalie was ruined by Jasmine and his family Dana and Michelle.
