Is there “Bad Blood” between Taylor Swift and Blake Lively?

Fans seem to think there is, based on one of the new song titles on Taylor’s “The Life of a Showgirl” album.

The sixth song is titled “Ruin the Friendship,” leading fans to believe it’s about Blake dragging Taylor into her “It Ends with Us” drama.

Taylor’s song “My Tears Ricochet” was used in the movie, which was a success though it became bogged down in a lengthy legal battle between Blake and her co-star and director, Justin Baldoni.

The “Cruel Summer” singer’s name has popped up several times in legal documents, mostly from Baldoni’s legal team.

Baldoni’s team claimed in May that Blake had threatened to release texts between her and Taylor if the pop star didn’t publicly support her.

Blake’s attorney, Mike Gottlieb, called the claim “categorically false,” per Harper’s Bazaar.

Baldoni’s team also sent Taylor a subpoena, which has since been dropped.

“Taylor Swift never set foot on the set of this movie, she was not involved in any casting or creative decisions, she did not score the film, she never saw an edit or made any notes on the film, she did not even see It Ends With Us until weeks after its public release, and was traveling around the globe during 2023 and 2024 headlining the biggest tour in history,” Swift’s rep said, per the outlet.

The statement continued, “The connection Taylor had to this film was permitting the use of one song, ‘My Tears Ricochet.’ Given that her involvement was licensing a song for the film, which 19 other artists also did, this document subpoena is designed to use Taylor Swift’s name to draw public interest by creating tabloid clickbait instead of focusing on the facts of the case.”

Blake and Taylor have been friends since around 2014, but according to a People Magazine report, "Taylor and Blake aren't speaking."

Fans also think “Ruin the Friendship” may be shading Blake based on Taylor’s comments during her appearance on “New Heights” this week.

While discussing handling internet comments and media scrutiny, Taylor said, "It's at a point where something can be about me — my name can be in the actual headline — and it can still be none of my business. People might be out here doing too much, doesn't mean I have to do a damn thing."
