Britney Spears and husband Sam Asghari separate after 14 months of marriage

LOS ANGELES (TND) — Pop icon Britney Spears and her husband, actor Sam Asghari, have separated after 14 months of marriage according to the DailyMail.

The tabloid site reported the news of split Wednesday afternoon, explaining that the cause was a "nuclear argument" over allegations that Spears had been unfaithful.

TMZ, who first reported the separation, was told by a source that Ahsgari has moved out of their house and that "it's only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce."

Asghari, 29, was Spears', 41, third husband and their June 2022 marriage was significant for the pop megastar, coming after years of battling in court for her freedom over a years-long conservatorship.

Asghari's representative Brandon Cohen confirmed the couple's nuptials. He said: “I am very ecstatic this day has come, and they are married. I know he wanted this for so long. He is so caring and supportive every step of the way."

The wedding happened nine months after the pair were engaged and nearly seven months after Spears' conservatorship ended. While seeking an end to the court case that controlled many aspects of her life, Spears expressed her desire to marry Asghari and have children.

The couple met in 2016 while working on the set of the music video for Spears' song "Slumber Party." The couple became engaged in September 2021.

The DailyMail and TMZ were unable to confirm whether the rumors of infidelity were true.
