Bruce Willis’ wife is mourning her life before the beloved actor’s declining health. In a series of bittersweet posts on June 15, Emma Heming Willis dedicated her Father’s Day post to her husband and all the “dads living with disability or disease, showing up in the ways they can and to the children who show up for them.”

Emma added that Bruce, who retired from acting after being diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia in 2023, continues to show his children “resilience, unconditional love, and the quiet strength in simply being present.”

The couple shares two daughters: Mabel, 13, and Evelyn, 11. Bruce also has three adult daughters from his previous marriage to his ex-wife, Demi Moore: Rumer, 36; Scout, 33; and Tallulah, 31. The 70-year-old actor is seen in a photo with one of his daughters, captioned, “This photo says so much. Love deepens. It adapts. It stays, even when everything else changes.”

"I’m profoundly sad today," Emma admitted. "I wish, with every cell in my body, that things could be different for him and lighter for our family."

In Emma’s Instagram stories, she continued to get more vulnerable, posting a throwback pic of the actor and their two little girls while wearing Ugg boots.

“I miss and mourn what was," Emma wrote, "Even those Ugg days. I want it all back."

Bruce’s eldest daughter, Rumer Willis, also honored her dad with a series of touching photos over the years, admitting, “Today is hard.”

“I feel a deep ache in my chest to talk to you and tell you everything I’m doing and what’s going on in my life,” Rumer said. “To hug you and ask you about life, your stories and struggles, and successes. I wish I asked you more questions while you could still tell me about it all.”

In 2022, Bruce was initially diagnosed with aphasia, a language disorder. The family shared the following year in a statement that his condition “progressed” to a more specific diagnosis: frontotemporal dementia (known as FTD).

Rumer continued, “I know you wouldn’t want me to be sad today, so I’ll try to just be grateful, reminding myself how lucky I am that you’re my dad and that you’re still with me.” In her carousel of photos, the 36-year-old actress concluded her post with a sweet picture of Bruce spending quality time with his grandchild, nicknamed Lou, Rumer’s 2-year-old daughter.

“I can watch the way your eyes light up when you see Louetta. I will be grateful for every moment I have with you.”
