Chris Martin jokes about putting people on camera during first show after Kiss Cam scandal
Chris Martin is doing his best to avoid any more scandal. He now is jokingly giving people a heads up that they’ll be on camera during Coldplay concerts after the alleged cheating scandal that happened last week.
During the band’s latest tour stop in Madison, Wisconsin, Martin addressed the crowd with a cheeky warning.
“We’d like so say hello to some of you in the crowd, how we gonna do that, is we gonna use our cameras and put some of you on the big screen,” he said in the video, shared by a user on X.
“So please, if you haven’t done your make up do your make up now.”
It was a clever nod to the moment last week during Coldplay’s Boston concert when the audience camera landed on Andy Byron, CEO of astronomer, cuddling up with the company’s head of HR.
“Oh look at these two!” Martin said upon seeing them and after they immediately tried to hide from the camera, he joked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”
The moment took the internet by storm, generating memes and conspiracy theories, including fake statements from Byron.

But there was some very real fallout from the alleged affair.
On Friday, Astronomer announced that Byron would be resigning.
In an official statement on their X account, the company said, “As we have stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met.”
They also announced there would be a formal HR investigation.
