Chris Meloni is coming back to his old stomping grounds, “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit.”

On Sunday, August 3, the actor confirmed his upcoming guest appearance on his Instagram. Meloni is set to return for the 27th season of the hit American drama series as his iconic character Elliot Stabler.

“Hangin with friends on a Friday nite @therealmariskahargitay @dannflorek,” Meloni teased his surprise cameo with a selfie alongside his fellow castmates, Mariska Hargitay, who plays Olivia Benson, and Dann Florek, who portrays Capt. Donald Cragen.

The original band is back together – Meloni, Hargitay, and Florek started on “SVU” together in 1999 when the show premiered.

But fans are rejoicing over the “EO” reunion with Olivia and Elliot back together, 14 years after Meloni’s exit from SVU after season 12. In a behind-the-scenes photo, Meloni, 64, and Hargitay, 61, are seen in a warm embrace, giving us all the feels for the longtime on-screen couple.

Fans are also thrilled to see Captain Cragen reunite with Olivia in the long-standing series. Florek left the show in 2015, making his final appearance in Season 23.

Plus, franchise vets B.D. Wong (Dr. George Huang) and Dean Winters (Detective Brian Cassidy) will make cameos on the episode, according to TV Line. The exciting episode will be followed by a network premiere of season 5 of “Law & Order: Organized Crime” starring Meloni.

“Law & Order: SVU” season 27 is set to premiere September 27, 9/8c on NBC.
