Clarkson’s ex-husband Brandon Blackstock’s official cause of death confirmed
Officials have released the official cause of death for Brandon Blackstock, ex-husband of Kelly Clarkson.
"Brandon Blackstock passed away peacefully at his home in Butte, Montana on August 7th under hospice care surrounded by his family,” Silver Bow County Coroner Dan Hollis told People Magazine.
He also confirmed that Blackstock’s cause of death was melanoma, a form of skin cancer, and the manner was natural causes.
A representative for the family announced his death on August 7th in a statement to the outlet.
"It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away," the statement read. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family's privacy during this very difficult time."
Clarkson had announce a day prior to his death that she would be postponing her Las Vegas residency to spend time with their children, River 11, and Remington, 9, mentioning that Blackstock had been ill.
"While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them," she wrote in a statement, thanking fans for their "grace, kindness and understanding."
In addition to his two children River 11, and Remington, 9 who he shares with Clarkson, Blackstock also had two children from a previous marriage, Savannah and Seth. He became a grandfather in 2022 when his eldest, Savannah, gave birth to a son, Lake.
