The (alleged) cheaters who brought the world together Thursday are still generating a mountain of news online, but what is actually happening?

As you recall, a video went viral of Coldplay lead singer Chris Martin saying “Oh look at these two!” when seeing them on the crowd cam at the band’s Boston show.

They immediately tried to hide from the camera and when Martin realized it, he joked, “Either they’re having an affair or they’re very shy.”

Based on their reactions, the world decided 100% that it was an affair.

A fake X post from Coldplay started circulating yesterday, reading “Starting with our next show, we’re introducing camera-free audience sections for people and their sidepieces.”

Actual details about the couple’s identity have been scant.

The man was potentially identified as Andy Byron, CEO of tech company Astronomer.

He supposedly gave a statement yesterday apologizing to his wife, family, and company for a “deeply personal mistake playing out on a very public stage.” The statement even ended with lyrics from Coldplay’s “Fix You.”

But Astronomer confirmed to TMZ, The San Francisco Chronicle and more outlets that the statement is “not a real statement.”

The real Byron has yet to make any kind of comment, same with the alleged other woman, Kristin Cabot.

Online sleuths did notice that Byron’s wife, Megan Kerrigan Byron, who reportedly dropped her husband’s name from her Facebook profile following the incident. (It remains to be seen if that is in fact the actual wife and not just a woman named Megan Kerrigan.)

Naturally, people are also trying to capitalize on the scandal.

On TikTok, a girl named Marina claiming to be Byron’s daughter, just started an account, saying she’s “Reconnecting with life after your dad’s affair makes national news.”

According to reports, Byron does have two children, but there is no confirmed information available about them.

But the real highlight of all this mess has been the memes.

One person shared a picture of a Taylor Swift fan from the Eras Tour, who hid under a blanket and sunglasses to ditch work for the concert, adding the comment, “This is how you should go to concerts if you’ve called in sick or you’re cheating on your partners btw.”

Some people are already fan casting a would be miniseries.

“Nicole Kidman needs to get on the phone asap and make a limited series about the affair,” an X user wrote.

Another person shared a reference to the Nathan Fielder show, “Nathan For You,” where the comedian helped small businesses in convoluted ways.

“The plan? Have the CEO get ‘caught’ having an affair with a coworker at a concert to increase brand awareness and get a buzz going,” their joke read.
