Coldplay 'couple' CEO Andy Byron resigns from Astronomer after viral concert cuddle
Andy Byron, the CEO of Astronomer who was caught on camera at a Coldplay concert cuddling up with his company’s head of HR, has officially resigned.
If somehow you’ve missed this story, the ‘couple’ was cuddling during a Coldplay concert when the kiss cam caught them. When they realized it, they quickly separated from each other. Then lead singer Chris Martin called them out for potentially having an affair. Internet sleuths later found out that Byron was the CEO of Astronomer, while she was his head of HR.
Astronomer issued a statement on Twitter Saturday morning announcing Byron’s resignation from the company.
“As we have stated previously, Astronomer is committed to the values and culture that have guided us since our founding. Our leaders are expected to set the standard in both conduct and accountability, and recently, that standard was not met,” the statement reads.
“Andy Byron has tenured his resignation, and the Board of Directors has accepted. The Board will begin a search for our next Chief Executive as Cofounder and Chief Product Officer Pete DeJoy continues to serve as interim CEO,” the twitter statement continues.
On Friday, the company announced they were launching a formal HR investigation into the now viral moment.
This canoodle took social media by storm, people were making memes and releasing fake statements for the world wide web to enjoy.
Byron and the woman in question probably aren’t finding it as fun to watch as we are though.
