Comedian Leanne Morgan has been honest on stage for years.

“I’m pretty much an open book through this whole thing. You know, I’ve talked about my body and menopause, honey I’ll be 60 in October, now I’m talking about that on stage,” she told us in Nashville.

Leanne was visiting with fans in Nashville while promoting her new Netflix sitcom, “Leanne.”

“I’m so glad though they didn’t base this on my real family because that would have been weird,” Leanne said, adding there are a few differences between her real life, her stand up routine, and the show's characters that are in place to let her family “have their own privacy.”

Leanne credits sitcom guru Chuck Lorre, who executive produces the show, with helping make those changes, the biggest one being her character getting dumped by her husband of over 30 years.

“All the things that they had in there, I would have taken to the bed. If that would have happened, I would have taken to the bed,” she said with a laugh, adding that “Those writers nailed it.”

The real Leanne has been happily married to her husband, Chuck Morgan, for the past 30 years.

“He’s doing pretty well and starting to enjoy it,” she said of her husband adjusting to her fame. “So I think he’s enjoying it and I think if I can kiss other men on TV if I make money at it.”

She added,“Even though he says I’m spending too much money on Amazon, but it’s just supplements.”

Leanne did share what she spent her first big paycheck on, and no surprise, it was something sweet for her family.

“I got landscaping people to go tomy son’s house and put down a big pad, then I bought the playground, the really nice playground to go on top of that pad so if they fall it won’t hurt. I got that whole thing and it’s nice and it won’t splinter, that’s the biggest purchase I made.

“Leanne” is streaming now on Netflix and you can go to leannemorgan.com to check out her tour dates.
