Country music icon rushed to hospital after slurring words during concert
Country music sensation Ronnie McDowell was rushed to the hospital following his concert on Saturday.
Ronnie McDowell suffered a mini stroke in the middle of his concert over the weekend. “He is doing much better today. We did find out that he had a mini stroke. They are going to run some more test[s] today before he heads back to Nashville,” his rep told Page Six.
The “Older Women” singer was performing at the Summer Solstice Music Festival in Oley, Pennsylvania when he began to slur his words. The 75-year-old got through “three or four songs on the setlist,” then he began “not making much sense.”
Ronnie’s manager reportedly pulled him offstage to ask if he was okay, which he responded “No.” This is when his manager thought he might be having a stroke and rushed him to seek medical attention.
Once some tests were run the singer’s son, Tyler, updated his fans on Facebook about his health, “Just wanted to let everyone know – I made to Pennsylvania. Ronnie Dean and I are in the room with Dad. He’s talking to us, and we’re waiting to do the MRI. As soon as I know more, so will y’all Love forever.”
He made a second post just hours later noting how his father is comfortable and getting all the food he wants and also adds, “I know you’re all concerned. I promise-no one is more worried than I am. Please understand, this is an incredible stressful time, and right now, my focus is on my Dad. If there’s anything that needs to be shared, I promise-we will. If you can, pray.”
Hoping for a speedy recovery for Ronnie!
