Daniel Craig giggling at 'Sesame Street' doing 'Knives Out' is too cute for words
“Sesame Street” made James Bond himself Daniel Craig descend into giggles with their “Knives Out” parody.
The classic kids’ series, streaming now on Netflix, recently featured a sketch called “Forks Out,” mimicking the mystery of the “Knives Out” films, where someone ate Cookie Monster’s berry pie.
On the case investigating Elmo, Zoe, and Oscar the Grouch is “Beignet Blanc,” a Muppet that looks like Daniel Craig’s now iconic detective character Benoit Blanc, complete with a Southern drawl.
Netflix shared a clip of Craig watching the sketch and the actor could not stop laughing.
When he heard the name “Beignet Blanc,” he declared “I love it!” and added that the puppet is “Much better looking than I am.”
He also joked that they can’t show the sketch to “Knives Out” director Rian Johnson because Johnson will “recast” Craig with his puppet counterpart.
Grover was also hanging around the sketch trying to enthusiastically guess the answer to who ate the pie, to which Craig said, “See, now that’s the kind of sidekick I need,” while comparing him to Josh O’Connor’s character in the latest “Knives Out” movie, “Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery.”
Craig continued to laugh, adding he was “spitting feathers,” (meaning he was annoyed), that “I’m not there actually doing it with them.”
“As someone who grew up on ‘Sesame Street,’ this is quite moving,” he said near the end.
We would love to see Daniel Craig hang out on “Sesame Street” with the puppet cast and maybe even team up with Beignet for the ultimate crossover.
“Wake Up Dead Man: A Knives Out Mystery” is in theaters now and will be streaming on Netflix December 12.
