Dax Shepard told his 11-year-old daughter he’ll pay to freeze her eggs at age 18
Dax Shepard is already thinking ahead for his daughter’s future.
During this week’s episode of his podcast, “Armchair Expert,” Shepard shared that one of his daughters, 11-year-old Delta, was looking forward to being a parent.
"Delta was saying how she can't wait to have a baby," Shepard told his co-host, Monica Padman. "I said, 'When do you think you'll have your first child, when you turn 18?' I want to be supportive of whatever. I don’t want to plant any seeds that I’d be judgmental or whatever."
Shepard, who also has 12-year-old daughter Lincoln with wife Kristen Bell, said he thinks Delta will be a great mom one day and predicts that day will be far in the future.
"I said, 'If you want to, we'll freeze your eggs when you're 18. I'll pay for you to get your eggs frozen so you don't have to think about that,'" Shepard said adding, the he is "acknowledging all luck and privilege, obviously, this isn't an option for most people."
He continued, "But I think given where it's, the trajectory it would make the most sense. I think they're going to be wrestling with the same thing every woman is. You're gonna want to do your career...."
While Shepard told Delta he thinks she’ll have kids more in her 30s, Delta deemed that “too old.”
"Again, she’s 11 so that probably seems like 80... It won't be time for her to be in the house every night with a child," Shepard said, referring to the idea of his daughter wanting to explore more in her 20s and beyond.
