'I didn't mean to scare anyone': Dolly Parton's sister clarifies request for prayers
Dolly Parton's sister, Freida Parton, is clearing the air about her recent call for prayers for the beloved singer.
Freida emphasized that her request was simply a heartfelt plea for support, not a cause for alarm.
"I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly," Freida partially wrote in a Facebook post.
Freida continued to say that Dolly has just "been a little under the weather..."
Dolly's sister Stella Parton also took to X Wednesday, saying in part, Dolly "has had kidney stones and is getting treatment." She also wrote to those she said are attacking her for not sharing personal updates, adding Dolly "will share with her fans when she so chooses."
Dolly, 79, announced she was dealing with kidney stones when she cancelled an appearance at Dollywood last month. Last week, Parton announces the need to delay her Las Vegas residency due to "health challenges." Addtionally, a marketing agency confirmed to FOX 17 News that she postponed the SongTeller Hotel press conference in Nashville set for Oct. 3.
Despite these setbacks, Dolly reassured fans that she's on the mend and eager to return to the stage.

I want to clear something up. I didn’t mean to scare anyone or make it sound so serious when asking for prayers for Dolly. She’s been a little under the weather, and I simply asked for prayers because I believe so strongly in the power of prayer. It was nothing more than a little sister asking for prayers for her big sister. Thank you all for lifting her up. Your love truly makes a difference.
