Dolly Parton has made a heartbreaking decision. The music icon is putting her music career on hold.

The sad news comes just months after Dolly announced that her husband, Carl Dean, passed away.

Dolly was talking to Khloe Kardashian on her podcast ‘Wonder Land’ when she said, ”... now that my husband passed away, there are several things that I want to start but I can’t do it. I will later but I’m coming up with such wonderful, beautiful ideas, but ‘cause I got so many other things that I can’t afford the luxury of, you know, of getting emotional right now."

She added: 'I’ll write something else, though, if it comes. I’m just putting that all on hold. That to me is my joy and happiness.'

Dolly and the notoriously private Carl Dean, were married for 59 years before his passing in March. At that time, she shared the news on Instagram and thanked fans a few days later for their support.

She said at the time, "This is a love note to family, friends, and fans. Thank you for all the messages, cards, and flowers that you've sent to pay your respects for the loss of my beloved husband Carl. I can't reach out personally to each of you but just know it has meant the world to me."

Dolly finished the post by saying, “He is in God's arms now and I am okay with that. I will always love you."
