Dollywood fined $6,400 after employee injury on ride
PIGEON FORGE, Tenn. (WZTV) — Dollywood's parent company, Herschend Family Entertainment, has been fined $6,400 by Tennessee's Occupational Safety and Health Administration (TOSHA).
The fine came after an incident occurred in which an employee was injured while working on a ride.
According to TOSHA, the incident occurred in March when a worker was hurt while adjusting a belt on the Smoky Mountain River Rampage ride. The employee was flown to the hospital for treatment.
TOSHA's report indicated that the ride had pulleys that were not properly guarded as required by safety regulations.
The company has not responded publicly as of July 18.
