'Duck Dynasty' patriarch, Phil Robertson, dies at 79

WEST MONROE, La. (KATV) — Beloved 'Duck Dynasty' star Phil Robertson died at 79 on Sunday, May 25, according to social media posts from the Robertson family.
Robertson is famous for founding the Duck Commander hunting company, which was the focus of the A&E television series.
Robertson's daughter-in-law, Korie Robertson, made a post to her Facebook following his passing.
Before Robertson became television famous, he was a football star at Louisiana Tech University. With the Bulldogs, he was the starting quarterback while NFL Hall of Famer Terry Bradshaw was his backup.
Robertson founded Duck Commander in 1972 in West Monroe, Louisiana. The company has become a mainstay in the hunting and game industry, especially waterfowl.
The 'Duck Dynasty' show premiered in 2012 and ended in 2017.
