Ed Sheeran is moving his family to America for a special reason

Ed Sheeran is making a big move!

The 34-year-old singer-songwriter, his wife Cherry Seaborn and their two daughters, Lyra, five, and three-year-old Jupiter are moving from Suffolk, eastern England to the United States while Sheeran tours.

"I'm just about to move to America. I feel like I might be the only person moving to America,” Sheeran said on the “2 Johnnies” podcast. "I'm going on tour there for a while and I have a family so I can't dip in and out. We're going and settling there."

As of now, Sheeran is apparently looking to move to New York City to start.

But Sheeran is also embracing his love for country music and the city of Nashville.

Earlier this year on the “Call Her Daddy” podcast, Sheeran said, “When you transition to country, you can’t transition back.

He added, "Nashville is my favorite city in the states and it’s always been my end goal to move to Nashville and transition to country."

Nashville has been on Sheeran’s mind for years.

In 2013, he told Newsbeat at the Brit Awards, "Nashville is full of very, very nice people.”

"I don't think people really care [about celebrities] in Nashville," he continued. "Even if they knew who you were, I don't think they'd care. They'd just be like, 'Eh.'"
