NFL Hall of Famer Randy Moss has announced plans to step away from ESPN’s Sunday NFL Countdown for "an extended time" due to health concerns, according to the network.

Moss briefly addressed the issue on last week’s show, stating he was “battling something internally” and wore tinted glasses during the broadcast.

A social media post from ESPN signaled full support:

“For nearly a decade Randy has been an invaluable member of the team, consistently elevating Countdown with his insight and passion,” the post read. “We look forward to welcoming him back when he is ready.”

The former Marshall University standout moved on to broadcasting after a legendary professional football career that spanned 14 years.

His contested catches spawned the fan-favorite Countdown segment "You Got Mossed" and an iconic soundbite became the namesake of the yearly "Straight Cash Homie" bonus review.

The wide receiver was enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2018.
