Everything to know about the 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade
The 99th annual Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is less than 24 hours away and we’ve got everything you need to know before you tune in Thursday morning.
When Is the Parade?
The parade will begin at 8:30am EST on Thursday, November 27, and run for about three and half hours.
How Can I Watch the Parade?
The parade will be broadcast on NBC at 8:30am in all time zones, as well as stream on Peacock and Fubo. It will have an encore airing at 2pm EST.
You’ll also have a few extra viewing options on Peacock on top of the traditional broadcast style. There will be “Float View,” which puts your POV on the Tom the Turkey float for an immersive ride through New York City, as well as “High-Rise” view, which takes you up high for a bird’s eye view of the festivities.
Who’s Hosting?
“Today” hosts Savannah Guthrie and Al Roker, along with a briefly returning Hoda Kotb, are hosting and providing commentary.
What Floats Are Going to Be There?
This year’s parade features 27 floats, including seven new ones. The new additions include the Friends-giving in POPCITY by Pop Mart float, better known as the Labubu float, a “Stranger Things” themed float, LEGO's Brick-tastic Winter Mountain, a float dedicated to Alaska’s natural beauty called the The Land of Glaciers, Wildlife & Wonder by Holland America Line, a delicious sounding Master Chocolatier Ballroom by Lindt float, a Serta mattress float, and the tiniest float in the parade, The Littlest Float from Goldfish, an under 8 inch tall float covered in Goldfish crackers.
What About the Balloons?
There will be 32 balloons (plus 3 balloonicles), with five new additions, including balloons based on Buzz Lightyear, Pac-Man, “Shrek’s Onion Carriage,” which will feature the characters in the onion-shaped vehicle, a Mario by Nintendo balloon, and a KPop Demon Hunters related balloon featuring “Derpy Tiger.”
Who is Performing?
Who ISN’T performing might be the better question! There will be 28 performers, plus 11 marching bands, 33 clown crews, and nine performance groups.
Among the performers are Busta Rhymes, Ciara, “Wicked: For Good” star Cynthia Erivo, Debbie Gibson, HUNTR/X from “KPop Demon Hunters,” Lainey Wilson, Foreigner, Jewel, Kool & the Gang, Lil Jon, Mickey Guyton, Shaggy, Teyana Taylor, and “How the Grince Stole Christmas” star Taylor Momsen, to name just a few.
