Kel Mitchell hit the Kids’ Choice Awards orange carpet solo yesterday, but that’s because his family was busier than he is!

“Man they got stuff. They’re booked! Booked and busy!” he told our Courtney Tezeno. “My daughter has a recital coming up, my son getting his belt for karate, I was with him earlier with the karate.”

“So just daddy getting slimed and then I’m going back home,” he added with a laugh.

The “All That” star was indeed slimed during the show, while holding a bottle of orange soda beloved by his character on “Kenan and Kel.”

Fatherhood is a point of pride for Mitchell, who has four children, Lyric, Allure, Wisdom, and Honor, calling it “awesome.”

“I love doing it,” he said. “Kids have so much honesty. And I love the fact that they love what I do and they’re excited about it and that makes me happy. Seeing them smile at me doing family entertainment and I can take them to family entertainment, I love that.”

The “Good Burger” star’s two youngest kids, Wisdom and Honor, appeared in “Good Burger 2” alongside dad, but they aren’t necessarily following in dad’s footsteps.

“Right now, they want to be a scientist and all these other different things and I’m supporting them. I think as a father, you have to do that, support your kids in whatever they do.”

He added with a laugh, “I’m not forcing them to be actors.”

Mitchell teased a “Good Burger 3” earlier this year at a convention, and he’s committed to the burger theme in life with his upcoming Burger Fest in Brooklyn in August.

“Me and the family, we go to a lot of different fests all the time, so I was like I need my own,” he said. “So I hooked up with Bucket Listers and it’s going to be awesome. It’s going to [have] music, it’s going to be a lot of fun.”

But when it comes to food in his hometown of Chicago, Mitchell opts for some other classics.

“You gotta get a Chicago style hoagie, Hoagie house,” he said, adding “Portillo’s is amazing, so good.”

Another favorite is Damenzo’s for pizza “where the pizza slices are super, super big. Not deep dish, just a big slice. Real Chicagoans we don’t eat the deep dish like that.”
