Six weeks after Anne Burrell’s untimely death, she made her final television debut as a mentor on the beloved series she’s hosted since 2010. Food Network honored the celebrity chef with a touching tribute on the season 29 premiere of “Worst Cooks in America” on Monday, July 28.

At the end of the premiere, the network shared a smiling photo of Anne that read, "In Memoriam, Anne Burrell, 1969-2025." Burrell, 55, died by suicide last month. The next slide featured a message for anyone in crisis "If you or someone you know is struggling or in crisis, help is available. Call or text 988 to reach the Suicide & Crisis Lifeline or chat at 988lifeline.org."

This is the first of many tributes for Burrell set to roll out each episode. Food Network shared in a statement, "The series will pay tribute to Anne each week."

"Anne Burrell was a one-of-a-kind talent whose loss is being deeply felt by family, friends, and fans," said Warner Bros. Discovery Head of Content Betsy Ayala in a press release on June 23. "With these special programming events, we hope to honor Anne and celebrate her impact on Food Network and beyond, and to offer fans a way to remember her passion and culinary prowess that ran through everything she did."

Anne’s cause of death was ruled a suicide after she was found unresponsive in her Brooklyn, NY home, according to PEOPLE.

The cause of death is specified as “acute intoxication due to the combined effects of diphenhydramine, ethanol, cetirizine and amphetamine,” and was determined by the New York City medical examiner’s office. Diphenhydramine and cetirizine are antihistamines; ethanol is a compound found in alcohol and amphetamine and is commonly used to treat ADHD.

New episodes of “Worst Cooks in America: Talented and Terrible” will air on Mondays at 9 pm ET on Food Network.
