CINCINNATI (WKRC) — Taylor Swift's Eras Tour has been a smashing success in every way and it now hopes to add a massive box-office run to that list.
In total, it's estimated that with the Eras Tour, Swift could be bringing in nearly $4.1 billion.
This would make it the most lucrative concert tour in U.S. history.
The multi-billion dollar figure comes from an estimate from Peter Cohan, who teaches MBA students at Babson College. He was asked to crunch the numbers for the Washington Post.
If you just took Swift's cut, it would be larger than the yearly economic output of 42 countries. It would also be enough to send every American around $17, according to TMZ.
She made most of her money from ticket sales and merch, but she also made a lot of money for hotels in the cities she had shows in.
It's estimated that hotels in cities with a stop on the Eras Tour made roughly $208 million, and that's only on the nights of the actual concerts. Realistically, most fans who traveled to see her stayed at least one extra day.
Her six shows at SoFi Stadium in Los Angeles added $320 million into the county's economy. Her shows in Denver added nearly $140 million.
Even her shows in Kansas City and Cincinnati added nearly $48 million to each of those city's economies.
Swift didn't just keep all that money for herself either, it was reported that she gave out $50 million in total bonuses to her concert crews. She even gave every truck driver who moved her equipment an extra $100,000.
The total figure from the Eras Tour is expected to keep growing. Her movie just hit theaters worldwide and with presale tickets alone, she's already passing the $100 million mark.
