SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — I'll skip the usual shock about how it feels like yesterday was February (and if you saw the snow on the ground here in Salt Lake City, you'd understand my confusion) and dive into the rabbithole of what is coming to Netflix this April.

New on Netflix April 2023
The "American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing" is the title that interests me the most, but I have to admit that I've fascinated by the superhero twist of "Transatlantic." I'm hesitantly interested in the Mahershala Ali narrated "Chimp Empire."Anthropomorphism is problematic, but it might work. We'll balance out the end of the month with Kerri Russell's "The Diplomat" and the second season of "Sweet Tooth."

Netflix Synopsis:Marseille 1940-1941.Transatlantic is inspired by the true story of Varian Fry, Mary Jayne Gold and the Emergency Rescue Committee. Risking their lives to help more than 2000 refugees escape occupied France, including many artists on the Nazis’ most-wanted list, an international gang of young superheroes and their famous charges occupy a villa at the edge of the city, where the threat of mortal danger gives way to unexpected collaborations and intense love affairs.

American Manhunt: The Boston Marathon Bombing
Netflix Symopsis:Patriots’ Day in Boston is a time to celebrate: Spring is in the air, the Red Sox play at Fenway, and the whole town turns out to cheer the Boston Marathon’s journey from the suburbs to the center of the city. When two home-grown terrorists bombed the marathon’s finish line in 2013, the biggest party of the year exploded into carnage, and as law enforcement launched an unprecedented investigation into the bombers’ identities, their pursuit spilled over into the streets of formerly-quiet neighborhoods, paralyzing the city and gripping our post-9/11 world. Chimp Empire
Netflix Synopsis:Under the lush canopies of Uganda’s Ngogo Forest dwells the largest chimpanzee society ever discovered. Sweet Tooth: Season 2
Netflix Synopsis:As a deadly new wave of the Sick bears down, Gus (Christian Convery) and a band of fellow hybrids are held prisoner by General Abbot (Neil Sandilands) and the Last Men. Looking to consolidate power by finding a cure, Abbot uses the children as fodder for the experiments of captive Dr. Aditya Singh (Adeel Akhtar), who’s racing to save his infected wife Rani (Aliza Vellani). To protect his friends, Gus agrees to help Dr. Singh, beginning a dark journey into his origins and his mother Birdie’s (Amy Seimetz) role in the events leading up to The Great Crumble. Outside the Preserve, Tommy Jepperd (Nonso Anozie) and Aimee Eden (Dania Ramirez ) team up to break the hybrids free, a partnership that will be tested as Jepperd’s secrets come to light. As the revelations of the past threaten the possibility of redemption in the present, Gus and his found family find themselves on a collision course with Abbot and the evil forces that look to wipe them out once and for all.
