Hilaria Baldwin 'never thought I'd dance again' before joining 'Dancing with the Stars'
Hilaria Baldwin hit the dance floor last night with a flashy cha cha, but she didn’t always think it could happen.
“I’m just grateful to be here, I never thought I’d dance again,” she told our Courtney Tezeno at the “Dancing with the Stars” after show red carpet.
Tearing up, she added, “Oh you’re gonna make me cry! Not in a bad way, but in a good way because this is all good things!”
Hilaria previously danced in ballroom competitions in her college years, per Page Six, but a hip injury prevented her from dancing for years until now.
She earned two sevens for her debut cha cha with partner Gleb Savchenko on the reality competition, as her husband, Alec Baldwin, and their children watched from the audience.
“My kids are there in the audience, and Alec is there, my brother-in-law Stephen was there and my niecemy friends, this is such a dream come true I have to pinch myself sometimes! It’s real, it’s real. I’m so happy.”
“My hips are sore today,” she admitted. “They have a physical therapist here, but one of my worst qualities is that I don’t listen to my body a lot of times, and today they encouraged me to go to the physical therapist and she really helped my hip, because it’s pretty sore. So I’m very grateful for that.”
She added, “But I think it’s just everyday, work, learn, have fun, enjoy, be grateful, all of these things add up to having the best experience ever.”
Hilaria and Gleb revealed next week they’ll be dancing one of the more traditional “in frame” styles of ballroom, like the waltz or tango, something the mother of seven has never done before.
She and the pro dancer joked they were worried, before Hilaria added, “he’s the best teacher ever though.”
“Dancing with the Stars” airs Tuesdays at 8pm on ABC.
