Holiday gift guide 2023: 'The Nightmare Before Christmas' 30th anniversary
SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — I love “The Nightmare Before Christmas.” Always have. I expect I always will.
Released on Oct. 29, 1993, “The Nightmare Before Christmas” seemed destined to become a cult favorite. Reviews were strong, its box office earnings were modest. No one, especially Disney, expected the film to become a pop culture juggernaut with merchandise sales that George Lucas would be impressed by.
But it did.
I never begrudged the film’s enduring popularity. It has served many as a cultural bridge between the kooky-spooky and the mainstream masses. The film has brought a lot of joy for me over the years. I hope it has done the same for you and yours.
Here’s a look at some of the new and classic collectables. I’m particularly fond of the 13-foot Jack Skellington, the new limited-edition Jack and Sally dolls, Funko’s Snowman Jack and Carolers, the Zoetrope vinyl, the stuffed Santa Clause, the Oogie Boogie-themed Villainous game and the Lovepop wreath. Oh, and the Our Universe sweater. And the...actually, I’ll take one of everything.
