'Home Alone' star Daniel Stern charged with soliciting prostitution
“Home Alone” star Daniel Stern is facing some serious legal trouble.
On Monday, the actor was charged with soliciting prostitution, according to the Superior Court of California—County of Ventura’s online records, obtained by The New York Post.
The alleged incident took place on Dec. 10, and Stern’s arraignment is scheduled for Tuesday.
According to a report from People, Stern was reportedly cited at a motel in Camarillo. Ventura County District Attorney spokesperson Joey Buttitta told the outlet, “From what I understand, he was cited at the location and released.”
Stern is best known to many audiences for his role as “Wet Bandit” Marv in “Home Alone” and “Home Alone 2: Lost in New York,” alongside Joe Pesci and Macaulay Culkin.
He was also the voice of adult Kevin on “The Wonder Years,” and is known for films like “Diner” and “City Slickers.”
According to People, Stern stepped away from Hollywood life many years ago, moving to a farm in Ventura with his wife. Stern told the outlet he made enough in his acting career that he "didn’t have to work” and his success gave him "an obligation to take advantage of my good fortune."
Stern has also taken the opportunity to focus on his work as an artist, which includes sculpture projects.
He was even commissioned by the family that bought the Illinois house featured in “Home Alone” to make a replica of himself and the tarantula that ran across his face during one of the film’s classic scenes.
He told People, "I've been looking at myself in my studio and I've made myself a lot handsomer than I actually am in real life — just why not?”
