How Matt Damon almost choked to death at Jimmy Kimmel’s house

Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel’s rivalry got put aside during a real emergency.
The late-night talk show host revealed during a recent interview with Variety that he saved Damon’s life while the star was at his house.
"I made pork ribs. He came late, was very hungry, and started eating fast. He started choking on a pork rib,” Kimmel said. "It was stuck in his throat for about an hour and a half."
Kimmel joked that their faux feud would have made things even worse if Damon had succumbed to the choking.
"I said, 'We have got to get him to the hospital,' because if he dies in my house, I'm going to prison for the rest of my life," he said. "I will never be able to explain this as anything other than a murder."
Kimmel and his guests had to find an alternative method to rescue the “Bourne Identity” star when the Heimlich didn’t work.
“We did a lot of YouTube-ing and finally concluded that eating little bits of bread was the way to get that rib to work its way down into his stomach — and bread saved him. We tried the Heimlich many times. It was too far down,” he said.
Thankfully, it all worked it and the two have continued their good-natured teasing throughout the years.
