Hulk Hogan’s official cause of death has been revealed a week after his death at the age of 71.

Hogan, born Terrence Gene Bollea, died of acute myocardial infarction, more commonly known as a heart attack, per information obtained by People Magazine.

The outlet also reported that according to medical records, Hogan had a history of leukemia, something not previously known to the public, as well as atrial fibrillation, a disorder that causes irregular heartbeats.

The WWE legend died last Thursday after suffering a heart attack at his home in Clearwater, Florida.

In a statement to The National Desk, Clearwater Fire and Police Departments stated they responded to a medial call at 9:51 am for a "cardiac arrest."

"A 71-year-old resident, Terry Bollea, also known as Hulk Hogan, was treated by Clearwater Fire & Rescue crews before being taken by Sunstar to Morton Plant Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased," it continued.

Hogan’s wife, Sky Daily, shared an emotional tribute to her late husband, which alluded to his past medical issues.

“I wasn’t ready for this and my heart is in pieces,” Daily began. “He had been dealing with some health issues, but I truly believed we would overcome them. I had so much faith in his strength. I thought we still had more time.”

“Hulk loved his fans so much and despite his growing physical discomfort, he did everything he could to show up, sign autographs, take photos, and connect with it all. You meant everything to him,” she continued

She concluded, “Please keep his family and all of us who loved him in your prayers as we try to navigate this new reality.”

Hogan is survived by his wife, Sky, who he married in 2023, his children, and Nick and Brooke from his first marriage to Linda Claridge.
