It’s over for at least one couple on '90 Day: Happily Ever After?'
Well, it seems the fairy tale is over for at least one couple this week, so let’s get right into it!
DARCEY AND GEORGI
Darcey is prepping for her big trip to Bulgaria with Georgi, shopping for a more conservative look with help from her friend Roxy, who also has a Bulgarian husband. Roxy has a similarly sexy style but still heavily advises dressing down for the more conservative country, especially considering Darcey still has a very distinct physical look even when she covers up.
The glamorous Darcey is both reluctant and seemingly incapable of toning down her style. At the salon the next day, she decides to go for smaller eyelash extensions, but there is honestly no difference (check out the hand side by side from TLC).
While packing for the trip with Georgi, Darcey proudly points out the microscopically smaller lashes and he is not impressed. In his solo interview, he sarcastically says wow, thanks for the eyelashes because “I’m 100% sure my parents, they’re not going to notice your big cleavage, your stripper shoes and your short skirt.”
Georgi is frustrated because he feels like she’s not putting in enough effort and not listening to him, disrespecting him in the process. She tells him she loves him in Bulgarian and after a few kisses and hugs, he softens and they’re off to the airport.
ALEXEI AND LOREN/ELIZABETH AND ANDREI/JOVI AND YARA
Speaking of international travel, Loren cannot let go of the fact she’s worried Andrei is pushing Elizabeth to move to Moldova. The day after the party, Loren talks it out a little with her friend Noga, who started the argument. Noga apologizes for her behavior, but stands by her point.
Loren, Elizabeth and Yara go out for a girls’ night later, where Loren again pushes for Elizabeth to reconsider a move to Moldova. Yara, who is from Ukraine, actually asks Elizabeth if she likes it there, and even talks up the fact you can travel easily to other countries from Moldova, which irritates Loren. Elizabeth is frustrated but unwilling to argue with Loren about boundaries until after she gets back from the vacation/possible move.
TIGERLILY AND ADNAN
Despite his worrisome driving, Adnan and Tigerlily make it to her cabin property. Adnan is very excited to see the log cabin, something he’s never been to growing up in Jordan, but he’s a little put off by the boxes everywhere and nothing being completed. He is impressed with the $12,000 toiler Tigerlily had installed (one of two!) but neither knows how to work the controls.
In the meantime, they’ll be staying at a hotel while the construction on the cabin is completed. But Adnan raises an eyebrow at the mess left behind by Tigerlily’s two children who had apparently been playing with confetti canons in the room earlier that day. This is the first time they’ll be living together, surely nothing will go wrong.
Later they met Adnan’s brother, Faris, at a country club, which does impress Adnan. There they discuss the possibility of Tigerlily converting to Islam. She’s previously agreed to their baby being raised Muslim, but she has no interest in converting herself. Faris asks her about converting, and she explains she doesn’t want to be told to do it, she would only do it for herself if she was interested, which Faris respects.
But in their talking head interview, Adnan suggests he’ll “help” her want to convert, which she calls preachy.
GUILLERMO AND KARA
Guillermo has dreams of becoming a pilot, but knows it’s really expensive and he’s only working a restaurant job at the moment with no benefits, so the prospect is dim. But while dropping their son off at Kara’s mom’s place for babysitting, she suggests he join the Air Force, which would essentially pay him to become a pilot.
He is very excited by the idea and tells Kara about it later, but she’s less than thrilled. Kara feels like Guillermo didn’t think through any of the realities of joining the military, like being away from her and Nico. She’s also uninterested in being a military spouse and having to move out of Virginia, leaving behind her family and her real estate and music careers there.
The fight is a quiet one and sad, as Guillermo acknowledges they’re just not on the same page about achieving their respective dreams.
GINO AND JASMINE
Gino is back in Michigan after his good time in Las Vegas with Natalie, telling his cousin he’s really thinking of divorcing Jasmine. He’s still conflicted, saying he has feelings for her, but that all seems to go away when he discovers evidence of her having phone calls with Matt months before they agreed to an open marriage.
Jasmine meets up with Matt (while in a home sauna, the perfect time to have a discussion about your marital status). She tells him she got an email from Gino to meet but not what he plans to talk about, giving her some hope they’ll get back together. Matt questions if it’ll still be an open marriage, and admits that he kind of hopes Gino messes up and he can swoop in on Jasmine.
At the park, Gino is ready to end everything, even bringing some of the last of Jasmine’s clothes and a coffee maker with him. When she arrives, Jasmine sees the stuff in the car and knows it’s not a good sign.
Gino confronts her about what he found, about her cheating with Matt before they ever agreed to an open marriage, and after some arguing back and forth, he tells her point blank he wants a divorce.
She’s completely shocked, but she takes her stuff, sets it on the ground and watches him drive away.
But she’s convinced, as she explains in her solo interview, that he never mentioned divorce and now that he’s had one good trip to Las Vegas, it’s this other woman who’s convinced him to ask for one.
Will Jasmine ask Gino for forgiveness? We can only wonder as the episode closes with her sitting on a pile of clothes in a parking lot.
