Jana Kramer is ready for a ‘One Tree Hill’ revival!

Rumors have been swirling that the coming-of-age drama has a reboot in the works with Netflix, and Kramer, who played Alex Dupre on the final three seasons of the CW series, is excited to reprise her beloved role.

“I hope that there is. I've heard so many rumors,” Kramer said. “I was actually just talking to Sophia [Bush] and Rob [Buckley] the other day on their podcast, Drama Queens. I had so much fun playing Alex that I hope that I would be able to get to play her again.”

One Tree Hill alums Sophia Bush and Hilarie Burton are set to executive produce and reprise their roles of Brooke Davis and Peyton Sawyer, respectively, in the sequel series, according to Deadline. It’s been over two decades since the show premiered in 2003 and ran for nine seasons until its final episode in 2012. The sequel is reportedly said to follow best friends Brooke and Peyton 20 years later as they navigate uncharted territory -- parenting teenagers.

Kramer, a mom of three, says she hopes her character has grown in some ways beyond her 20-something stage, especially when it comes to dating.

“I hope she's in a healthy relationship, but I almost have a feeling that she's just wild and free, doing her own thing, and maybe has a kid from a dude that she shouldn't have been with,” Kramer joked.

As for Alex’s mom era, Kramer predicts her character won't stray too far away from her carefree personality in the original series. “She’s a mom, but she's still, you know, she's still fun and free, but is a little bit more grounded,” Kramer, 41, said. “She was so much fun. I loved playing her.”

The teen drama series originally starred Chad Michael Murray, James Lafferty, Bethany Joy Lenz, Austin Nichols, Antwon Tanner, and Paul Johansson, among others. Fans are in for a treat if we get to see our favorite teens all grown up, navigating adulthood.
