Jennifer Aniston reignites classic 'Friends' debate: Were Ross and Rachel on a break?

It’s been over 20 years since the end of “Friends” and we’re still not sure: Were Ross and Rachel on a break?

As you recall, in the 15th episode of the third season, the aptly titled episode “The One Where Ross and Rachel Take a Break,” Rachel (Aniston) and Ross (David Schwimmer) decide to pause their relationship after Ross thinks Rachel cheated. The “break” ultimately feels like more of a breakup according to both parties.

Later in the episode, Ross spends an evening at a bar and has a one-night stand, but he realizes Rachel left him a voicemail saying she wanted to work things out. But the one-night stand ended the relationship (at least for a while).

Whether or not Ross and Rachel were truly “on a break” became a running gag in the show, popping up many a time when the on-again off-again couple were having a spat.

The debate among fans has raged on ever since, and now Jennifer Aniston is adding fuel to the fire.

Over the weekend, Jen by reposted a meme to her Instagram stories with an image of a doormat at a home with a question for delivery drivers that reads “Deliveries: Were Ross and Rachel on a break?” with arrows pointing to “yes” and “no” answers. In the image, the driver left the box next to the “no” answer.

In a caption to go with the picture, the unnamed meme creator wrote, “I feel that I need to have a conversation with my delivery guy.”

It seems Jen is on Team Break, meaning Ross definitely cheated the very night they broke up, or were partially broken up, or who knows at this point.
