WASHIGNTON (Sinclair Broadcast Group) -- Comedian and Oscars host Jimmy Kimmel delivered a monologue during the 90th annual Academy Awards that touched on many cultural moments such as the #MeToo movement and "Black Panther." Kimmel also decided to run an ongoing contest throughout the show.

The host announced that he will be awarding a jet ski to the actor or actress who gives the shortest speech during the ceremony because "it's a long show." The jet ski Kimmel is allegedly giving away is worth over $17,000. In the event of a tie, Kimmel says he'll simply award the jet ski to Christopher Plummer.

Before giving the comedy bit, Kimmel also addressed the changing tide of Hollywood's reaction to sexual harassment.

"If we can work together to stop sexual harassment in the workplace....women will only have to deal with harassment all the time at every other place they go," Kimmel joked. "Only 11% of movies are directed by women. That is nuts."

Kimmel also referred to the movie, "The Shape of Water," by saying, “we will always remember this year as the year men screwed up so badly, women started dating fish.”

While discussing the past unfair treatment of women in Hollywood, Kimmel said, "I remember a time when the major studios didn't believe a woman or a minority could open a super hero movie—and the reason I remember that time is because it was March of last year."

Kimmel even joked about last year's mishap when the award for Best Picture was mishandled.

"This year, why you hear your name called, don't get up right away. Give us a minute."
