Keith Urban abruptly ends interview over this Nicole Kidman question
Keith Urban abruptly ended an interview over a cheeky question about his wife, Nicole Kidman.
The country singer phoned into the Mix 102.3 show “Hayley & Max in the Morning” on Tuesday to talk about his upcoming tour. Hosts Hayley Peterson and Max Burford introduced the “Kiss A Girl” singer to their game “Wheel of Truth,” where the hosts ask their guests deeply personal questions.
The radio show, located in his native Australia, is known for asking racy questions, but this one seems to have gone a little too far for Urban.
“In our Wall of Truth, Keith, we often get put into this situation where we have to answer a very tricky question, deeply personal question. I get really uncomfortable, to be honest, asking our beautiful guests something they might be uncomfortable [answering],” Haley says.
So Max takes it upon himself to ask the question to Keith, “I thought, ‘What does Keith Urban think when he sees his beautiful wife with younger beautiful men like Zac Efron having these beautiful love scenes on TV?’” Referencing Nicole and Zac co-starring in Netflix’s “A Family Affair” and “The Paperboy.”
After asking the question and waiting for Keith’s answer the hosts exclaim, “What just happened here?”
“He’s disconnected from Zoom,” one of the show’s producers said. “I think his team hung up on us because they didn’t want us to ask the question.”
“That’s 100 percent what’s just happened. Oh my god! I knew that would happen. We’ve upset him! He’s gone,” Hayley adds.
She continues to explain how she remembers reading in articles, Keith doesn’t like answering private questions about his wife and about one of Hollywood’s finest couples.
