We got a text, and it says Huda and Chelley’s feud is bringing tension to the entire Villa.
After the ‘Love Island USA’ stars aired out their grievances to islanders in the Standing on Business challenge in week four, drama is at an all-time high between Chelley Bissainthe and Huda Mustafa.
To catch you up, Chelley felt disrespected by Huda after she “took it too far” with Chris Seeley and Ace Greene, her longtime match, in the Hearts on Fire challenge. After witnessing Huda getting extremely raunchy with Ace (basically making out and dry humping him in front of everyone), Chelley’s villain story unlocked.
Chelley called out her former friend, Huda, who claimed to be a “girl’s girl,” about the incident in the mailbox challenge. When multiple islanders called out Huda’s behavior with Ace and then accused her of also stealing Chris, who joined season 7 with other Casa Amor bombshells, from Chelley, Huda went from zero to 100 defending herself. While she apologized to Chelley for the sexy moves, she was adamant about how she should have the option to explore other love connections because Chelley wasn’t closed off with Chris.
While we see her point, the Villa can see the hypocrisy from Huda, who was very territorial about Jeremiah (her previous match who was voted off the villa) when they were coupled up on the show. If Jeremiah was off-limits, why is Ace when Chelley expressed, they were in an “open” relationship? Based on principle, Chelley expected the same courtesy from Huda that she expected from all the girls over Jeremiah.
So, whose side will the cast be on? Cierra Ortega addressed how Ace didn’t set a boundary in the steamy challenge with Huda -- siding with Chelley’s strong feelings. Olandria Carthen made it clear she’s Team Chelley, too. She even aired out how Huda and Chris kissed in private, calling out how Huda claimed she “valued” putting Chelley’s best interest first over getting to know Chris, but it’s a deeper conflict about loyalty.
Right now, it looks like most of the ladies of Love Island are consoling Chelley by the end of the episode, and Huda only has Chris whom she’s coupled up with. In our opinion, we see both sides. Huda was extremely inappropriate with Ace and a bit of a hypocrite. But Chris and Chelley’s lukewarm connection seemed like another way for Chelley to continue being pursued by two men at once instead of closing off with Ace as her number one.
One thing’s clear: the villa has a new pair of frenemies between Huda and Chelley, and the drama’s still piping hot.
Here’s what you need to know heading into Week 5, as Casa Amor ends and the Villa awaits the results of America’s vote. Amaya Espinal, affectionately named Amaya Papaya, seems to have won over America’s heart to win it all.
The self-proclaimed “sensitive gangsta” has had enough with the ping pong behavior about her “crying too much,” according to Ace, Zak, and Austin in the mailbox challenge. But many online think she’s in it to find love and hopes she gets a real connection (outside of Zak) in the coming week.
After the last challenge, we’d be happy to see Amaya with Bryan, who came to her defense in the recent challenge, or even Elan, who has explicitly stated he’s interested in Amaya. Maybe a new bombshell could come and sweep her off her feet. Here’s where everyone stands ahead of the Thursday, June 3, episode.
