Morrissey cancels concert minutes before showtime leaving fans enraged
Morrissey pulled out of his concert in Stockholm last minute to focus on himself.
The British music icon cited exhaustion and a lack of industry support as the reason behind his last-minute cancellation. The 66-year-old was supposed to perform at Hovet Arena on Monday, June 23.
“We are travel-weary beyond belief. We’ve visited six countries in one week, and there is no support from any record label to help us continue,” a statement on the singer’s website read.
The former lead singer of The Smiths, whose full name is Steven Patrick Morrissey, has supposedly canceled or postponed over 100 concerts since 2010. And furious fans seem to be growing very frustrated by the continued cancellations.
The fans lit up social media expressing anger at the singer’s reasoning and slammed him for constantly making excuses.
Fans were eventually notified about this last-minute change with a messaging saying, “Due to exhaustion among the band and the crew, the Morrissey headline engagement at Hovet has been cancelled. Refunds will be available at the point of purchase.”
We hope to see Morrissey on stage again soon!
