Ms. Rachel almost missed a DM from her fan, Rihanna!
Rihanna slid into Ms. Rachel’s DMs.
Ms. Rachel was a guest on Kylie Kelce’s “Not Gonna Lie” podcast on Thursday, where she revealed Rihanna was in her DMs.“I am elderly, or elder millennial, it’s called, so I’m not amazing with Instagram, so I didn’t know about the requests and top requests, so I ghosted some people for like months.
She also admitted that she’s “not a cool person who knows a lot about celebrities,” which could explain why she was so out of the loop when it came to Rihanna’s infamous Instagram page.
“When I saw a ‘badgalriri,’ I was like, ‘Wow, this person has so many followers.’ And then I was like, ‘This is such a cute profile picture,’ because it’s a drawing. No idea,” she explained. “I asked people who were around I was like, ‘Do you know who this is?’ And then, yeah, I realized it was Rihanna. I [gasped]. I was like, ‘Wow. Yeah, that was crazy.’”
The “Diamonds” singer is just one of Ms. Rachel’s 3.5 million IG followers, including Robert De Niro, who admitted he watches her show with his 2-year-old daughter, Gia.
“I am grateful that so many families enjoy it and find those moments of joy, singing together and bonding, and I just feel like the luckiest person ever to the best job in the world,” Ms. Rachel continued.
Those aren’t the only celeb fans, though! Ms. Rachel is a huge fan of John Legend, and she got to perform with the “All of Me” singer.
“I got to sing with John Legend. That was so cool. I was a fan of his way back in high school. I loved piano pop and I love all the pianists like Sara Bareilles and throwback to, like, Billy Joel, Stevie Wonder. And I knew an album that was like, ‘Nobody knows that album and it’s even available anymore.’ And I was like, ‘I can sing every song on that album.’”
Since 2020, Ms. Rachel has amassed over 11 billion views. She creates content with he husband, Broadway music director Aron Accurso. Together, they have two children, Thomas, 7, and daughter Susannah, who was born earlier this year.
