Billy Joel has canceled all of his upcoming concerts due to a recent medical diagnosis impacting his hearing, vision and balance, according to his team.

A statement shared on his social media revealed he was recently diagnosed with normal pressure hydrocephalus (NPH).

The condition happens when cerebrospinal fluid accumulates in the brain's ventricles, leading to cognitive impairment, according to the Cleveland Clinic. It is often misdiagnosed as Alzheimer's or Parkinson's disease because the symptoms of NPH mimic the conditions.

"This condition has been exacerbated by recent concert performances, leading to problems with hearing, vision, and balance," the statement read. "Under his doctor's instructions, Billy is undergoing specific physical therapy and has been advised to refrain from performing during this recovery period."

"Billy is thankful for the excellent care he is receiving and is fully committed to prioritizing his health. He is grateful for the support from fans during this time and looks forward to the day when he can once again take the stage," the statement continued.

As for ticket refunds, fans were told they don't need to take any action to receive them. It will be automatically processed back to the original form of payment used.
