New DVD, Blu-ray and digital release highlights for the week of March 1-7, 2021

SALT LAKE CITY (KUTV) — It's a busy week for releases as the critically acclaimed "Promising Young Woman" arrives on digital to own and "All My Life," "Fatale" and "Monster Hunter," a trio of films that had theatrical releases, make their way to Blu-ray and DVD.

• La Llorona - Not to be confused with the disappointing English language film "The Curse of La Llorona," "La Llorona" is aGuatemalan supernatural horror that actually gives the folklore a fair shake and introduces modern, political elements into the narrative. It's a slow burn, which might dissuade those looking for buckets of blood or jump scares,.
• Promising Young Woman -"Promising Young Woman" sees Carey Mulligan in a ferocious performance as Cassie in director/writer Emerald Fennell's("Killing Eve") tale of a young woman who spends her evenings luring predatory men by pretending to be drunk at nightclubs and bars. Bo Burnham co-stars as a former classmate and future flame.

New on DVD & Blu-ray

• All My Life -Jessica Rothe and Harry Shum Jr. star in this by-the-umbers romantic drama that sees Jennifer (Rothe) and Sol (Shum) fall in love only to discover that Sol has cancer. As the couple drifts into a place of despair, their friends rally to remind them that life is a gift and love should be celebrated.
• Doctor Who: Revolution of the Daleks - The special "New Year's Day" episode is the newest episode on the on-going Doctor Who drama featuringJodie Whittaker as the Thirteenth Doctor.
• Fatale -Derrick (Michael Ealy) is a former athlete who co-owns a successful marketing firm with his friend Rafe (Mike Colter). Derrick suspects his wife is cheating on him, that doesn't stop him from embarking on a one-night stand with Val (Hilary Swank), a stranger, while in Las Vegas for a bachelor party. Derrick lies about who he is and where he is from. A mistake he quickly realizes when Val shows up as the investigating officer after someone breaks into his home and tries to kill him.
• Monster Hunter -Paul W. S. Anderson's adaptation of the video game "Monster Hunter" is big, loud and often nonsensical. The story is built around a storm cloud that magically teleports a group of American soldiers to another planet where giant monsters roam the deserts. The soldiers, led by Artemis (Milla Jovovich), must find a way to return to home while fighting off a variety of monsters. Tony Jaa co-stars and Ron Perlman makes a extended cameo that points to the possibility of a sequel.

• 400 Bullets - Set on a remote military base, "400 Bullets" is the sort of action film that sees two strangers forced to work together to hold off a group of mercenaries.
• Crazy Samurai: 400 to 1 - This 90-minute film features a 77-minute fight sequence that is shot in a way to make it appear like it was done in one take. Based loosely (very loosely) onlegendary swordsman Musashi, "Crazy Samurai: 400 to 1" offers little in the way of story. It's not nearly as exciting as it initially sounds. Still, its an impressive show of endurance fromTak Sakaguchi.
• Rick and Morty: Seasons 1-4 -Rick is essentially a mad scientist who lives in his daughter Beth's garage where he performs bizarre experiments in the name of science. He might have a drinking problem. Rick also goes on galactic adventures with his grandchildren, Morty and Summer. The experiments and adventures aren't particularly popular with Jerry, Rick's son-in-law. Such is the madness of the unrestrained storytelling of "Rick and Morty." Strange and stranger still.
• Scare Me - This comedy/horror hybrid sees a writer retreat to the wilds in an attempt to work his way through writer's block. When a storm knocks out his power, he finds himself swapping horror stories with a more successful writer who just so happens to be staying nearby. Stars writer/director Josh Ruben and Aya Cash ("The Boys")
• Zappa -Alex Winter directs this lengthy documentary about musician Frank Zappa.
• War of the Worlds - The Steven Spielberg andTom Cruise take on the famous H.G. Wells novel gets a 4K steelbook release.
• Girls Rule Collection - "Mean Girls," "Clueless" and "She's the Man"in one package.
• She's the Man - Celebrating its 15th anniversary, "She's the Man"starsAmanda Bynes asViola, a scorned soccer player who attempts to assume her twin brother's identity so that she can play for the men's team. It's not exactly Shakespeare.
