The Backstreet Boys are heading back to Sphere in Las Vegas soon, and fans can expect some changes to their already iconic show.

“I'd say, it's pretty new,” Nick Carter told us at the 24th Annual Christmas at The Grove Tree Lighting Celebration Presented by FOX 11. “We've had a big break in between the last run that we did, and it was incredible.”

He continued, “I couldn't dream of a better launch. You know, everyone showed up in white. Everyone was just very nostalgic with the ‘Millennium’ [album] and it just took everybody right back to that great time and music.

The Backstreet Boys are coming back to Sphere right after Christmas and have a “really big New Year's show” planned.

“But if you haven't had a chance to see it, I think it's, I'd like to say, one of the best shows that we've ever put on. And so we're really grateful to be able to do that. And it accentuates what we do as a band and the Backstreet Boys and our music and if you're a fan of boy bands, I mean, come and check it out. I think you might like it.”

Nick performed a selection of Backstreet Boys songs at the tree lighting ceremony Monday night, plus a festive doo wop version of “White Christmas.”

“I mean, this is like the biggest, in my opinion, in LA. So I'm honored to be invited to be here," Nick said, adding that his sister, her husband, and their kids were there as well. “And it's just great to be here because, you know, it's free for everybody out there. They get a chance to see us.”

Fellow boy band icon Lance Bass hosted the evening, and naturally their band’s respective Christmas albums came up.

“Well, I'm just going to say, fortunately, whenever I'm out shopping in Target or WalMart, I tend to always hear, ‘Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays,’ Nick joked.

He continued, “We just put out a Christmas record a couple years ago, and we had waited a long time to put that together. And so I think people were really enjoying it. But those songs back then, we only did, like one or two songs, but they did, I think, a whole recordno matter where we go, you can hear their songs and our songs, so it's fun.”
