Ozzy Osbourne’s hometown of Birmingham will honor the late rocker with funeral procession
Ozzy Osbourne is set to be honored by his hometown of Birmingham, England.\
Osbourne passed away on July 22, at the age of 76, just two weeks after his final performance in the city with his band, Black Sabbath.
On Wednesday, fans will be able to line the streets to pay their respects to the rock icon as a procession passes through the streets.
A hearse and accompanying vehicles will go down Broadstreet to the Black Sabbath bridge, where fans have already placed tons of flowers and other tributes to Osbourne.
The procession will also be accompanied by a live brass band from local musicians, Bostin’ Brass.

The Lord Mayor of Birmingham, Councilor Zafar Iqbal MBE, JP, said in a statement, “Ozzy was more than a music legend - he was a son of Birmingham. Having recently been awarded the Freedom of the City and following his celebrated appearance at the ‘Back to the Beginning’ concert at Villa Park earlier this month, it was important to the city that we support a fitting, dignified tribute ahead of a private family funeral.”
He continued, “We know how much this moment will mean to his fans. We’re proud to host it here with his loving family in the place where it all began, and we are grateful that they have generously offered to pay to enable this to happen and support the city is giving him the farewell he deserves.”
Family and friends have shared touching tributes to the “War Pigs” singer.
The family initially released a statement announcing the sad news, writing, "It is with more sadness than mere words can convey that we have to report that our beloved Ozzy Osbourne has passed away this morning. He was with his family and surrounded by love. We ask everyone to respect our family privacy at this time” and signed by “Sharon, Jack, Kelly, Aimee and Louis."

A few days later, his daughter, Kelly Osbourne, shared a simple but heartbreaking post on her Instagram story.
“I feel unhappy I am so sad. I lost the best friend I ever had,” she wrote.
The family will be holding a separate private funeral service from the Birmingham event.
Osbourne is survived by his wife, Sharon, and six children.
