It was a wild night out with the stars of “The Bad Guys 2!”

Sam Rockwell, who voices Mr. Wolf the leader of the pack of reformed animal criminals, was even mock arrested before stepping onto the carpet with his partner, Leslie Bibb.

But the cast, including Marc Maron, Awkwafina, Anthony Ramos, and Craig Robinson, were excited to reprise their roles for the sequel.

“There’s a scene where I’m a wedding officiant and I had to channel most of the preachers I knew all my life,” Robinson told our entertainment reporter Courtney Tezeno. “I was able to bring that which was a lot of fun.”

In “The Bad Guys 2,” Mr. Wolf, Mr. Snake, Mr. Piranha, and Ms. Tarantula are trying to stay out of trouble and quit the crime game.

But that changes when they meet up with The Bad Girls, voiced by Danielle Brooks (Kitty Kat, a snow leopard), Natasha Lyonne (Doom, a raven), and Maria Bakalova (Pitail Pterove, a wild boar).

Bakalova told us about her character at the premiere, saying, “I love her. I think she’s very honest and she cannot really hide her excitement, the same way that I can’t hide my excitement being a part of this group. She’s been such a huge fan of the Bad Guys.”

Alex Borstein, who plays Misty Luggins, the police officer from the first film who has a wary trust of the original Bad Guys, highlighted the idea that the so-called Bad Guys (and Girls) aren’t all they seem.

“What I think is so cool is I think it proves there’s no such thing as bad or good we all live in the grey spaces and that’s what makes us interesting,” Borstein said.

“The Bad Guys 2” is in theaters August 1.
