Sarah Jessica Parker confirms she dated Nicolas Cage before finding 'the one'
Sarah Jessica Parker confirmed a longstanding rumor about her love life.
On Sunday Night’s “Watch What Happens Live,” Cohen asked Parker about how she knew her husband of almost 30 years, Matthew Broderick, was “the one,” but also snuck in a quick question about her dating history.
“Did you date Nic[olas] Cage?” he asked after her romantic story about Broderick.
“Um, yes I did,” Parker replied.
Cohen quipped, “Oh wow, we got some talking to do.”
Parker and Cage co-starred together in the movie “Honeymoon in Vegas,” released in 1992. The romantic comedy also starred the late James Caan and Pat Morita, as well as a cameo from a young Bruno Mars as an Elvis Presley impersonator.
The “And Just Like That” star didn’t share anymore details on the show, it’s highly likely the relationship happened just before she began dating Broderick.
As for her now husband of 28 years, Parker knew Broderick was “the one” early in the relationship.
“I just knew he was incredible, just spending a little bit of time with him,” she said. “I think probably pretty early [I knew]”
She also shared that as she was about to go on location to shoot a movie, she remembered thinking, “I love him.”
Cohen asked who said it first, and Parker said she did, adding, “Nothing to lose! You know what I mean?”
And she said he said “I love you” right back.
The couple married in 1997 and share three children together, son James Wilkie, and twin daughters, Marion and Tabitha.
