See Carrie Underwood rock her natural hair for the first time in 30 years

Carrie Underwood is back to her original roots!

The 42-year-old country superstar debuted her latest hairstyle on Instagram, showing off her gorgeous “bronde” locks.

“Well, the last time I saw my natural hair color, I was probably about 12 years old,” Carrie said in her post on Aug. 4. “But I thought it might be time to give it a second chance.”

The “Before He Cheats” singer is known for her signature blonde hair color, but we are loving her au naturale blonde-brown look. This marks the first time in 30 years that Carrie has switched things up with her hair color.

Underwood, who rose to fame after winning season four of “American Idol” in 2005, also thanked her Nashville hairstylist Kaetlin Megert for “helping me get back to my roots.”

The singer told Refinery29 back in 2012, she was ready for a change.

"I'd love to do a little more with hair color,” she said. “I've always been blonde! The problem is, I don't want to shock people –– like if I dyed my hair brown, I don't want people think I'm turning dark and serious. I wish I had started changing my hair around in the beginning, then it wouldn't be such a big shock if I did something like that now.”
